Computer Science · Multisite Study
A regional network for agentic AI education in computer science.
Starting from a two-university classroom pilot, AIML is assembling a multisite network of CS courses where students practice human-in-the-loop supervision of AI coding agents — and learn to prevent objective drift. Partner sites shape the shared labs, tools, and measures, and take a seat in the research.
The research
Can students learn to keep an AI agent on target?
Our preprint describes objective drift: the tendency of LLM-assisted work to slide away from the objective it was given. It proposes a human-in-the-loop framework for keeping that work aligned.
The multisite study asks whether that supervision can be taught — and whether it holds up across different institutions, courses, and student populations. A single campus can’t answer that. A regional network can.

What partner sites receive
Everything needed to run the labs.
- Lab materials and tools at or below cost, ready for your course.
- Instructor training and direct support during the term.
- Privacy-protecting telemetry designed for classroom research.
- IRB support: shared protocol and consent templates for your local board.
- Co-authorship on multisite papers and a named role in grant proposals.
What we ask of a site
A course, a lead, and a little time.
- A faculty lead who teaches a programming course.
- One course section in an upcoming term.
- Local IRB review — we help prepare it.
- A few hours of instructor onboarding before the term.
How the labs work is easiest to show, not tell. Contact us and we’ll walk you through them.
Bring your idea
A regional resource is built by its members.
We want more than participants. If you have a lab you’d like to adapt, a measure you trust, a tool you’ve built, or a question you want answered across campuses, the network is the place to test it. Shared tools for agentic AI education should come from the people teaching with them.
